Ask an artist, "Which painting is your favorite?"  But then, always follow up with, "Why?"  That's the real question you want to ask. 

This painting on this day, in this location...it was like everything happened without a hitch.  The scene practically painted itself onto the canvas in an hour and a half.  I usually find things to tweak when I get it home.  Nope.  It was a good day.  A really good day.   

When I look at this painting, I can hear the water babbling after a rain the night before and feel a light wind warmed by dappled sunlight.  I can see my painting friend sitting on a stone beside the creek already painting beside me because she didn't want to waste time fumbling around with her french easel.  Peaceful.  Living.  Enjoying Creation.  Being satisfied with the moment.
